Summary

Spire is seeking a Construction Administrator to work in the St.
Louis, MO operation.
This position will be responsible for assisting the Manager, Construction in directing and coordinating the activities of the Construction work group and assigned SIT crews and for ensuring that all procedures, policies, and codes are followed and that completion dates are attained

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule all training (OQ, Fire, Hearing, Halt, Respirator, etc.
    ) for employees
  • Use the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to plan, schedule, and assign work to crews
  • Maintain crew composition and schedules in the EAM software
  • Schedule and coordinate shared equipment and resources
  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of plans to attain departmental goals
  • Set up and implement plans to attain departmental goals
  • Review construction jobs, including checking blueprints, visiting work sites, prioritizing jobs, and ensuring that the necessary material and equipment are available to complete the job
  • Meet contractors and municipalities, including attending meetings or job sites, going over utility conflicts/changes in contractor plans, and scheduling start dates
  • Visit main crews to check on the progress of jobs and assist the Construction Foremen with any problems that occur
  • Review the completed work , including closing out work orders, checking pipe footage mandates, and writing explanations for job overruns and notify the Manager of any problems
  • At the direction of the Manager, Construction, assign work to Construction Foremen based on the urgency of the project and the ability of the employee or crew to perform certain work
  • Assist in the management of employee issues, including assisting in the grievance procedure, filling temporary and permanent job vacancies, and disciplining employees
  • Review and complete various types of paperwork, such as absence reports, safety reports, service tickets, weekly manpower reports, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Essential Characteristics and Competencies

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Yes

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • High school diploma/GED

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Two to three years of experience as a Foreman

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • A mix of normal office conditions, outdoors exposed to all weather conditions, in construction areas with uneven surfaces and in areas exposed to loud audible noises
